The CHOGM 2011 Taskforce
Consistent with practice for previous such events in Australia, a Taskforce has been established in the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet to oversee the logistical and administrative arrangements for the event.
CHOGM 2011 Taskforce
Terry Crane is the Head of the CHOGM 2011 Taskforce. Terry was born and bred in Southport on the Gold Coast of Queensland and joined the Royal Australian Navy when he was just 15 years old. After 12 years of service, Terry left the Navy and started his Australian Public Service career. Terry has worked in a number of Commonwealth departments and agencies, predominantly in the areas of protective security and corporate services.
In 2001 Terry took up the position of Senior Adviser (Security Operations) for CHOGM 2002 in Coolum before becoming Head of Security at Parliament House.
From 2003 to 2007 Terry worked as Senior Adviser (Corporate) to the Prime Minister. Terry then worked in the Department of Parliamentary Services before returning to the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet in January 2010 to establish the CHOGM 2011 Taskforce.
The Taskforce is responsible for all logistical and administrative arrangement for CHOGM 2011, including venues, security, accreditation, airports, transport, accommodation, delegate relation, hospitality, media and corporate services. Terry is supported by a team of professionals with many years of experience in delivering high profile events.
