Challenger Students Serving It Up On The World Stage
Five students from the School of Hospitality and Tourism at the Challenger Institute of Technology will help prepare meals for over fifty world leaders at a dinner hosted by the Prime Minister during the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting.
The students jumped at the opportunity to showcase their skills, which have been honed through a program run by Challenger for 30 years to meet the needs of the hospitality industry.
Students were selected by executive chef Costa Simatos from twenty nominations. The group made up of five students known as ‘the A team’ were chosen for their enthusiasm, professionalism and impressive work ethic.
Challenger Institute of Technology is a wellspring of talent which has produced no less than 11 WA Apprentices of the Year and has been awarded the WA Tourism Gold Plate Award for Best Restaurant within a Training Establishment three times.
The students are looking forward to impressing world leaders from across the Commonwealth, showcasing the fine food Perth and Western Australia has to offer.
